Which BA are you using? It doesn't sound like the same one that I use! On almost every domestic I ever take into LHR the flight crew are chunnering on about BA's inability to be ready to receive an arrival. I especially love the line that goes something like "Isn't it amazing that a ****** aircraft can sneak in here without anyone noticing?"

Then I think you have been very unlucky. Whilst it does happen from time to time, it certainly isn't as often as you imply.
