Correct... used AS miles to take the family to ABR this summer to visit family since DL is the only airline serving that small town in SD and also because I fully expect our ability to use AS miles for DL flights to go away in the next a year or two. As for the baggage, we really needed the free checked bag benefit on DL since we had multiple DL trips (not typical) so we are churning the DL Amex Gold which gives everyone on the reservation a free bag as well as 30,000 bonus miles with $1,000 in spending so that fixed the baggage issue (and there is no annual fee the first year so it really is free baggage).
