+1 - The media love stories and even FT is full of threads which suggest that air carriers, especially BA, are social service agencies which take on nanny-like obligations to passengers.

I took a moment to look at BA's website and noted that it does a rather good job from the perspective of a novice flyer with a section devoted to "Packing Tips". It includes not only clear and concise suggestions regarding medications, but it includes an embedded video.
I full well realize that not everybody looks at these things. It has probably been there for a long time and I had never seen it. But, there is only so far BA can go.
