2 Reservations, same flight, different seat map availability?!
As annoying as the IT systems are with an incoming DUB-LHR on EI stopping on-line check-in when it becomes available, i'm trying to pay to reserve a seat on the A388 for LHR-LAX.

I bring up the seatmap and there are 0 seats available to pay to reserve on the lower deck and about 7 available for the upperdeck.

When my friends on a different booking log-in (group of 5), they can see many seats to reserve on the lower deck and a few extra on the upper deck.

We all want to pay for 6 seats together and right now I can't even pay BA to sit with my group of 5 ...

Can you book seats over the phone or will that incur even more charges?
