In California, the ticket is only enforceable if your likeness is clearly visible on the photograph. What this means now, however, are these amazingly complex arrays of digital cameras and flashes placed all over the intersection. And you can go and request a complete video playback of the incident if you want to go to court. I can't imagine what this costs - it surely makes the system's ROI a bit longer.

At least California believes that unless they can prove that it was you who was operating the vehicle, you are not guilty. Unlike Australia and by the sound of it, some of the other US states!
