Our company doesn't permit LCCs, so when I went to Bonn last year I flew to Berlin and backtracked with AirBerlin. The DUS flights were expensive on that day, and I did not want to fly Germanwings.

There wasn't enough time to get into town* but I was able to do a bit of shopping and mess around I mean work for a few hours in the lounge. It was apparent that AirBerlin wasn't quite BA, but it was soon over.

Checking my BPs, I see that my year had just begun after making Silver so my thinking was that I should get stuck in as soon as possible.
