I do understand that, for less frequent (or, as it appears from the article, first or once in a lifetime type travelers), it can be difficult to know instinctively the things FTers take more or less (if sometimes grumblingly and in not altogether good humor) for granted: have at least one change of clothes and at least some basic toiletries for each family member in your underseat carry-on, and never, ever check in your prescription medications. Ever.
Clearly, though, BA's inability to get this family's baggage back to them for what, five days, is a service failure by BA. Twenty-four to forty-eight hours, while frustrating, is understandable. By day three, even a patient and experienced traveler begins to get frustrated. A family of infrequent travelers with small children and a senior citizen? This must have been hard to deal with, no question.
