Found this thread from 2014 but I couldn't find a clear answer, the reason why I'm creating this new thread.

Got my AB Gold status last week (23rd august), AA system can't see my elite status even when asked (thru contact center) to remove and add my topbonus number again.

Does anybody know how long does it take for AA system recognizes my elite status?
