Sorry, but if your medication is vital, why would you put it in checked luggage? I am on thyroid meds and they are always in my hand luggage. I even went to the US post 9/11 with a bag full of heparin syringes and a sharps bin in my hand luggage.

I totally agree with you, however I wouldn't necessarily criticise someone for thinking that taking liquids and needles in hand-luggage could be a problem, even if they're legitimate medication.
Also, part of their point is that it took so long for the bag to arrive. If it was mistakenly left off the flight, you'd think it could be sent out on the next one, and not take days and days to arrive.
