Edited to add I agree with GrapeDane as always there's a good chance that your luggage won't make it dont' check anything in that you can't afford to be without for 24 hours. Although the BAE146 is a small aircraft they let you take fairly large roller cases to the aircraft and then you surrender them at the aircraft door to be put in the baggage hold - there's no problem with this at all this luggage always makes it.. it's only the luggage you through check all the way with a connection at CDG you need worry about.

Yes, I've had my luggage take an extended "vacation" in CDG without me previously. Luckily, I'll be on my way home to MSY, so I'll be able to live without my luggage...temporarily.

However, something else that you mentioned has the potential to be a major problem for me. I'm a travel photographer and, and while traveling overseas as lightly as possible to do my work, I always carry my equipment and film on the plane. I use a canvas style camera bag that most photojournalists use and a normal student type back pack to fit all of my cameras, lenses, and film. Both items can fit in the "sizewise" thingy together. Any idea as to whether or not I will be allowed to carry on these two items?
