Qantas is a poor frequent flyer program. Air NZ is very very poor ffp
Award flights are not free. Especially with QF & EK
Upgrades with QF are an expensive lottery. Upgrades with Air NZ are hard to get
The chances of getting upgrades on any airline with status only is close to nil and with cash/ff miles is low
Living in PER you may be better with an Asian based ffp's (Where is Wandering Fred when needed?)
