The childish OP is over-reacting by overstating that he was slapped. The FA may have lightly touched his hand while saying something along the lines of, "Sorry, only two please." The upset OP, pouting and sulking, then fabricated a far-fetched story of being physically abused by an FA on an aircraft "older than dirt."

Not only is your opinion disrespectful to the frontline worker doing his/her best to serve 150+ passengers with limited catered items in a cramped environment at 35,000 feet, but yours and the OP's attitude that you should be able to eat the whole basket, the heck with everyone else, and it's Delta's fault is rude, entitled and immature.
1) You don't know if the OP is overstating the slap, so, that point is moot. It amazes me how someone can change someone's story on an anonymous internet chat board. Until we hear otherwise, we have to take the OP's word as to what happened

2) I didn't know that snack baskets were meant to serve 150 pax.

3) If you re-read my post that you quoted, I did, indeed say, that there's definitely some etiquette involved, and NEVER advocated anything close to an "attitude that you should be able to eat the whole basket".

Short story, indirectly related:

A few years ago, a good friend was an airport RedCoat. She was overseeing a new GA, who was doing something terribly wrong on the computer. She gently touched her on the wrist, in a friendly way to guide her transaction. The GA reported my RedCoat friend, who was terminated immediately without recourse, due to a strict, no touching policy!

4) ANY form of physical contact in this situation, in this day and age, is unacceptable! This isn't the era of Wally and The Beaver! A friendly, simple verbal remark would have sufficed.
