Delta cut out evening flights on Saturday SEA-SAN and PDX-SAN, which is forcing me to book the returns on AS. I'm paying up to first class on AS because they are reasonable and earn 200% on Skymiles.
I think Delta is losing their shirt on these EMB-170 flights up and down the west coast. Personally, I love them for the comfort, easy upgrades, Luvo meals, and good service. Unfortunately for Delta, no one else agrees with me.
I've booked about 10 SAN-SEA segments as 5,000 mile Skymile awards (about 2 cpm) for this fall. I think this Delta's way of filling seats on the cheap without engaging AS in a price war.
