Why does US Airways NEVER advertise???
I live in the DC area where US Airways is not only based but also has a very sizeable portion of the O&D.
I see lots of AirTran and Southwest ads in the Washington Post. NW and DL have periodic ads but I don't seem to see them as often as the LCCs. United has a major radio and print campaign going on right now for the launch of Ted out of IAD. Heck, my Sunday Washington Post newspaper came in a colorful Ted plastic bag.
What gives? Do they think people will not notice ads? I was at a small dinner gathering last Sunday night and the topic turned to travel. This was by no means a travel-savy crowd but rather a bunch of regular Washingtonians. Yet the launch of Ted out of Dulles came up in conversation because some folks in the crowd were talking about going to Florida.
Is US that broke? Do they think ads do not generate revenue? Do they really think people in the DC area know that US flies to 10 destination in Europe/U.K.????
Thoughts?
