Sure as long as they don't mind being stuck a day between flights. Even if all goes well, they have to clear immigration and customs into Ireland, pick up luggage, checkin in with DL, clear Ireland exit immigration and security, and then clear US Immigration/Customs and TSA apprpoved Security (DUB is a preclearance airport)

They need to fly in the night before.
