Not really, as not all the 763s have been converted to lie flat, nor are they expected to be by December (I think it's somewhere on order of half, but there's another thread on that).
And of course always the possibility you'll get one of the 1-2 757s that may be converted by that time...
So you went from a medium probability of lie flat to a very low probability of lie flat.

I don't think so - the seating configurations on the angled-flat and the full-flat 757s will be identical (4 rows of 2-2). This may be the biggest issue for folks on 757 international flights as the conversions take place. I suppose you'd have to find out what specific aircraft (by tail number) is planned for the route (AA probably doesn't decide until a few days before and I'm not sure at what point it's available on the various third-party tracking sites), and then cross-reference that to a list of converted aircraft that someone will hopefully maintain--likely in this thread.

But regardless, you can cancel for no penalty due to the equipment change.
