It was no problem for me, as I was only looking for about 4 hours.

I guess I'm happy enough with this outcome.
Some users tended to use the rooms as a "resort stopover", which made them difficult to snag on a genuine cross connect.
An interesting, if not wholly unsurprising, move from QR.

They have the Airside Hotel for longer stays, albeit there is a cost attached. Perhaps this is the reasoning behind the change.
