Baggage damaged by TSA, item missing, CX claims success rate?
Just got off a SFO-HKG flight on #873. Am GO, traveled in J.
Picked up my bags and found the zipper was cut open, and duct-taped back.
Looks like TSA went through it and left a lovely TSA "we screened your bags" note inside.
One of my items - a digital camera - is now missing. Approx $700 worth. And yes, my mistake completely, for being absent-minded and stupid enough to check that camera in, v.s. hand carry.
I lodged a baggage damage claim at HKIA, and am wondering what the success rate is for missing item claims? Will CX generally reimburse to the full cost of the item, or nego w/you, for a partial claim?
