Air Tahiti Nui gets in from LAX at 5 am we could then take the flight to AKL the same day or one day later - leaves at 8 am. I would personally vote no. You can be at the Hilton by 8:00 a.m. if you take the ferry/cab, but you'll likely have to wait for a room to be open. And you'll have to leave really early the next day (5:00 a.m. at the very latest, I would think) to be at the airport for an 8:00 a.m. flight. And that assumes you're talking Monday-Saturday. Sunday would be impossible. (Monday-Saturday would be cutting it somewhat close, but I think it's doable.)
It's a nice place, but I wouldn't mess with it for 1 night.
