I've used both the 20 and 22" bags, the former is much easier to work with and fits most anywhere -- even under the seat on some planes, the larger one also fits but its more important to get on board early to secure space. My preference is usually for the extra room to avoid having to take a second bag.

The day I noticed the scale at the airport when I dropped my bags on it to check-in (between my briefcase and suitcase it was about 50-60 pounds), was the day I called my IS Manager to request a lightweight laptop and started severly cutting back on what I take with me. My laptop is now in the 2-3 pound range and I avoid carrying around paper and most anything that will add too much to the overall weight. If there are documents I need, these days I try to fedex them home instead of carrying them. It's no wonder I was having neck and back problems !!
