While a lot of good points have been made already (not least soft landing as mentoned by Gajan if you aren't sure you'd qualify for Gold next year anyway), I'd personally think that 5 unnecessary returns is way too much to "only" get to Plat instead of Gold. If you were finishing the year on 58 then maybe but 50? No way.
