second, what does it mean when oneworld realligns their fares? Is it to make sure each member is on board with fare combinablility/miles/elite status points etc?
well, perhaps this is a reaction to the expanded codesharing going on within the US. transatlantic "Q" booked ex-Europe was always the odd man out with regard to mileage etc., so it does make sense of a sort to downgrade Q domestically in the hierarchy to 7th or 8th class discount.
it's going to be very confusing for anyone with pre-April 3rd tickets out there in Q... they're going to be sloshing around the system for months.
the q-points page still hasn't been updated either. anyone who bought a pre-April 3 Q fare will want to check and make sure they get 1 point. of course, anyone who bought an L fare pre- April 3 might now get 1 point....
I can't believe the AAdvantage statement computer is going to be smart enough to get this right...
