I'll second that recommendation. Paris is great at night, city of lights and all. Even just to walk around by the river, take in a light meal (peak time for dinner in Paris is around 8:30/9pm, but many restaurants are open late). Just grabbing a light meal at an outdoor cafe and people-watching is worth it.
