Exactly! That's what eye shades and ear plugs are for.

I also cannot understand the mentality of some airlines that force passengers to close their windows shades after the first meal service and then it's lights-out in the cabin, when it's a daytime flight. Why would they expect people to be sleeping at 11am or 3pm? Most of us are working (or at least awake) at this time if we are on the ground!
