This is the only situation where I would tip; the driver going above and beyond what he/she is there to do. At the end of the day, the driver is being paid to drive you. That's it. He helps you with bags, boxes, finding pokemon, that's above and beyond!
If they feel that the compensation from driving without tips isn't enough, then don't drive and complain about how you're not making enough.
