2. to the OP, i've used a 22" Samsonite roller on UA (my primary carrier) many times (rarely check it in) and have had no problems in the airbus, 757, 777, 747 planes, and the 737. the bag fits in lengthwise on all the aircraft, but on certain 737 only it needs to go in wheels facing out for whatever reason.
