Well, according to Netflix's all knowing and esteemed senior executives, Netflix customers neither care about nor want this feature (several of their "Senior VPs" have been quoted on this topic)

They also seem to think their customers are stupid, here is a quote from an article on this topic back in 2015:

"According to Neil Hunt, Netflix’s Chief Product Officer, Netflix users won’t be able to handle the complexity the added choice will bring."

That statement is perhaps one of the most arrogant, hubris infused statements I think I've ever heard an executive make about their paying customers in quite some time.

Interestingly, my wife is currently on a 25+ hour flight to India right now and somehow managed to stumble through selecting a ton of movies and TV series to download from Amazon Prime and watch during both the flight out and back. I did not hear any wailing or gnashing of teeth while she managed to make her selections, but perhaps my wife is extraordinary in her ability to "handle the complexity."
