I am in NYC 2-3x a month. I used to stay exclusively at the Marquis: but then I discovered the Marriott East Side right next to the Waldorf. Ive mentioned this hotel in the other threads, but I just find it much nicer. Quieter, decent rooms, nice but compact gym, SOLID concierge lounge, etc. I know the OP didn't list it as a choice, but that is now my go to hotel in NYC.
