I immediately upgraded my J seats to F by calling AA. I then called EY and was assigned 2D/2G in F cabin. Today, I checked my email from last month and just realized that the ticket is still in J. Each time I made a change in class in the past, a new ticket number was issued. This time I missed that this didn't happen. The odd thing is that the itinerary on AA's website has me in F on that flight AND the itinerary sent to me by EY also has me on F with seats 2D/2G (again, in F cabin). But when I actually check the ticket, it says business class and doesn't have the assigned seat. The EY agent I just talked to is confused as well but says that if I check in, the class on the ticket is the class that I'll get. I don't know what to make of this. I'm calling AA now, but EY no longer has any F award seats available. For those who have had similar issues, what was the solution or result?
Call AA and sort it out.
One thing to note though, MLE rarely gets F service and EY mostly uses A320s and 2-class A330-200s on this market so there is still a chance of another equipment substitution before February and J may end up being the highest class of service.
