Sometimes, the toughest part of fixing a problem is finding the person with the authority to actually fix it. In this situation, there are only going to be a few people that can address the problem. Anyone you speak with at SPG or the hotel Front Desk isn't going to be one of those people.
In a perfect world, when you experienced the problem the first time, it would have been noted and sent to someone with the authority to fix it. But, most people concentrate on the problem at hand. They don't always have the time to investigate the origin of the problem.
Fortunately, the Starwood Lurkers have an excellent track record with regard to fixing these types of issues. I'd imagine this problem will get solved soon.

I'm glad I wasn't aware of FT back when I was a hotel Revenue Manager. I certainly made my share of (honest) mistakes in that job. I would have been mortified if someone had accused me of purposely trying to screw over guests just to earn $127 in no-show revenue.
