To put it another way:-
If you did not pay APD for the 12-15 year old at the time that you purchased their ticket, you will not get a refund of what you did not pay.
So you might want to work out first whether or not you did pay APD.
If you can post the full itinerary, someone might be able to have a stab at back-calculating the total TFC paid by the two of you and whether it included one or two lots of APD.
