You can go out of DCA to get F but you'd have a 5 hour layover on the outbound (though more reasonable 2 on the return). No PQMs on 9W but you do get RDMs.
Not the best but would save you a good amount of money
Yeah that's a good idea.
I will wait on booking for now. if prices won't drop in UA hopefully everything else will rise so I can justify UA's ticket and achieve 1K for the first time.
