Well I have an upcoming DL transatlantic flight in September that was ticketed in mid-June and at the time as FB Plat I had to pay for comfort+ seat (GBP 80+) which I duly did in order to secure a seat.
Called DL today to query this and why I had to pay they have no reference to the FB statement at all on their website or in their internal documentation and told me that you only get complimentary for FB Plat at online check-in if space available. They read their statement and I read mine but the guy even went off to check with supervisor and still came back with the same.
I am going to make sure I avoid any DL operated KL codeshares over the pond until this is rectified one way or another.
Did you tried to call the platinum line ? They are good there and AF/KLM handle the requests for Delta in Europe so they should have the power to do something, either reimburse the seat or give you something else to compensate.
