I flew the AZ service a few months ago, I found it fine; the food is meh, the wine is pretty good and the seats are perfectly comfortable. The new AZ lounge in FCO is outstanding for food (great pizza and pasta), good espresso, etc.

I would say that in general, I'd prefer the later flight as it would be easier to sleep.
