Actually they do. A good friend of mine got his first plat less than a month before expiration of tracking period. The points were posted about a week after the flight on the first days of the month, leaving only some 3+ weeks till the end of the tracking period. It was in a way funny that after the points were posted, the points statement page showed still gold with -500 points needed for platinum. Not surprising to find yet another IT error. He called plat line and they were a bit puzzled what is this -500points, but changed it right away into plat, with new plat vouchers expiring in some 3 weeks.
Yes, confirmed. That's exactly what happened to me today. I'll get new vouchers for the next tracking period Sept 1. I'm assuming if you have less than a week left of the tracking period, you'd only get vouchers for the next tracking period and no "double dip".
Also worthy of noting is that I've spent all my Gold vouchers this period and the Plat vouchers are additive, i.e. when reaching plat, the fact that you've had Gold vouchers and used them makes no difference. I was actually expecting less vouchers than I got
