Agreed, the new QF seats will be vastly superior. However, from checking the QF website, the LAX-SYD route will not be getting them till mid year, then I checked the QF forum on FT, a far more reliable source of info than QF's own site, the new skybed roll out is behind sched.

I have flown QF J in the "dreamtime seat", I prefer AC's seat.
