I just flew LGA-MIA-LGA this weekend and checked my account this morning and this is what I see:
AMERICAN AIRLINES 1389 Y LGA MIA Method: Fare
8/19/16
EQM/EQS 1,097 / 1
Base Miles 625
Bonus Miles 375
Total Award Miles 1,000
AMERICAN AIRLINES 1367 Y MIA LGA Method: Distance
8/21/16
EQM/EQS 1,646 / 1
Base Miles 1,097
Bonus Miles 659
Total Award Miles 1,756
I'm currently Plat, total fare for this flight was $337.20, no taxes or fees. Error from AA's side?
1097 appears to be the actual miles, so even though they said "Method: Fare", EQM was based on distance, which is course as it should be. And the 1646 is 1.5x that, so you were apparently in a full econ fare class on the return.
"total fare for this flight was $337.20, no taxes or fees" puzzles me. There are always taxes, so I assume you mean $337.20 is the base fare, not the total?
Was there anything else going on here? IRROPS on the return, maybe?
