I doubt this would happen for passengers travelling in premium cabins.

Surely it's a poor idea anyway as baggage labels can easily get torn, ripped, damaged on the way to the airport, and will hold up check-in?

Many people I see travelling to the airport still have their old label on their case anyway, with check-in staff having to rip it off to put the new ones on. People are just not that well organised in their lives…
