Cathey and Quatar are Oneworld members and I hope to skipped the bad BA and AA service. Is no comparison with Cathey or Quatar.
I am willing to travel some extra hours for a route.
To fly transatlantic with Qatar, you probably have to go ex-CAI, where you can get business class fare for around £1.3-1.5k return. That means positioning your self to CAI (probably you can book a one-way AMS-CAI, and then nest multiple CAI-AMS return). That's like an extra 8-9 hours each way, plus all the transfer/hotels in CAI. I don't think it's worth doing it just to fly Qatar.
If you look outside of OneWorld, there are a few fifth-freedom routes you can try, like FRA-JFK and MAN-IAH by SQ, MXP-JFK by Emirates.
