I have visa rbc rewards, which I want to use towards a trip to a resort in Punta Cana. The total cost for two persons is $5934.27 or 593,427 points. This is a lot considering a trip to Hawaii was $3,868.26. A few days ago, the price through rbc for the resort in Punta Cana was just over $4000, which is expensive considering the price on orbitz.com is $3234 for the same resort. Since rbc uses Orbitz, I am curious to know why there would be such a big price difference? Also, would visa rbc price match the quote that Orbitz gives on their website as they use them for flight/hotel packages?

This is what rbc says on one of their website pages: "Experience the same simplicity, convenience and of course, the deals, that you are used to with Orbitz‡ on our site." From my research, the deals are not the same. Should they be? Should the prices that orbitz.com offer not be the same with rbc considering it's the same flight and/or hotel pkg?
