I actually ended up making the event. The person I talked to said the new EWR Polaris lounge will be in addition to the two clubs and will not take away any space from the existing lounges. She said ORD will be the first to get the Polaris lounge. So seems like some inconsistent information between the employees working there. She also mentioned that you would be able to split your 5 course meal between the ground and the air (ex: have 3 courses in the Polaris lounge and then the other 2 in the air). Not really sure how that would work but benefits people who want to sleep.
In terms of the seats, it seems slightly claustrophobic since they're so jam packed together, although it does offer a lot more privacy. I think the seats are generally the same as the current one except the seat is slightly wider and the footwell is a lot larger. I think taller people will continue to gripe about the seats.
Amenities looked nice, the slippers felt very soft. Not sure if the amenity kit will be in a zip up book like the one at the event or pouch style (shown in the virtual reality simulation).
Overall, pretty impressed with the improvements. Lady mentioned that EWR-HKG would probably be the first with the seats (on the new 777's), but I imagine the roll out to existing planes will be a slow process
