"Password strength" is a misnomer. There are no strong passwords, there are only LONG passwords. Each additional character allowed increases complexity (and thus time to crack using traditional computing methods) by an order of magnitude.
Sophisticated hackers aren't trying to brute force passwords by checking all combinations, so it isn't necessarily true that longer is more complex/secure. e.g. "password1234", which has 12 characters, will almost certainly be cracked much faster than 8 or 10 randomly chosen characters, despite being longer.
