I thought it was a great move. If they would have made an exception that one time it would mean making an exception every time. The skyclub was also pretty packed that day.
And if they would have made an exception for them, that would mean they also would probably make exceptions for every one else. If I bring an associate into the skyclub I pay the $29 per person. You better believe if the agent would have waived them in the next time try guesting colleagues in at DTW if I get that agent I'd be bringing up that incident demanding my colleague be allowed in for free. When I travel with someone from work I'm typically on an expensive fare, I'm sure they were on a discount leisure fare.
