No. You need to call the operating airlines and verify they have your reservation. If they don't, then AE has to fix it. They can and will buy a revenue ticket to replace the failed points ticket if they didn't ticket in time.
Actually, if one has a ticket number, the ticket was issued. And surely an Aeroplan ticket won't be issued with no reservation. Real issue is, booking made but ticket not issued within one week; in that case, partner airlines automatically cancel the reservation.
