, but it is always arriving carrier, irrespective of IRROPS, that is responsible for missing luggage. It may be unfair, but that is the procedure. You should have received a UA PIR file no.
You arrived with UA; hence UA baggage team is responsible, also from an Insurance point of view, for locating and replacing your lost luggage. They will then deal with recourse from SK.
Thanks, HJ Simpson, that's good to know should it ever happen again. I just did what i was told to do by ground handling staff in SFO. In the meantime, I escalated to senior management through personal contacts. Received a reply to my e-mail of June 9 (that they had previously said they didn't receive) asking for my bank details and asking me to understand that they couldn't share information about how they handled claims. A few days later, I received an e-mail saying they had transferred the amount on the receipts to my bank account and they hoped to soon welcome me back as an SAS passenger.... (fat chance) Their impersonal service is maintained right up until they can push the case closed button. From former very loyal customer, I have now become an active SAS detractor.
