WRONG. China must be transit, meaning that if you arrive nonstop from the USA, you must depart on a flight that first lands is a different country, where Hong Kong, Macau, and Taiwan are all considered to be separate countries for this purpose.

Also, good luck on having DL allow you to board without a Chinese visa even if your itinerary is TWOV compliant.
