OP - In the first instance, it is your room and I suspect that you signed something saying that you took responsibility for the contents. If the hotel pursues the matter, it is your responsibility.
Maybe your employer, the manufacturer or somebody's insurance, including your own will provide some cover, but that is between you and the third-party. That has nothing to do with the hotel which has its claim against you.
Don't play cute as some advise. That usually costs a lot more in the end.
