Thanks in advance for any guidance.
Stayed at the Ren before the renovation, the location is definitely not as good as the JW. JW is right across the Pavilion and the "city centre" is within normal walking distance - walkway to KLCC is convenient.

The Ren - you need to walk about 10 minutes to KLCC or you can take a free tourist bus, get out of the hotel and across. It will take you to the main tourist attractions. Going toward Pavilion is great but don't count on using them to go back - sometimes it got real packed at KLCC and sometimes they stop for 30 minutes before moving on.

The lounge in the Ren is nice - service is great but the food is not that good (I don't drink alcohol so I don't know what they have). The closest place to eat is a cafe like thing with Indian food called cafe NZ - I bought take out once there and it was really good. That place is less than 5 minutes walk from the hotel.

However if you are expecting to use a taxi, then it doesn't matter which hotel you stay at. The Ren has the largest pool in KL (told by a staff there) - and it's big enough to separate the families and couples. I think the JW doesn't allow kids into the lounge so there won't be any disturbance from families either.

Will be there next Feb. and I'm struggling between the DT and the Ren. My kids love the Ren (my youngest love their mango juice - honestly it's not that good), the staff are friendly and the kids know who like them and who don't.
