Booked an international reward tix, went to payment, then the next screen showed there's a system error and either call AP or check back later. Tried it again later a few times, same message.

3 days later: I got an email from AP saying the itinerary was ticketed!!! Called AP and they confirmed it. I had to negotiate with the supervisor to get it cancelled without paying the fee, since my travel plan had changed assuming the requested itinerary didn't go through.

Want to see if other FTers had same issue. This could be a problem!

It happens and frequently. Aeroplan IT is state-of-the-art. Then again, taste in art can be so subjective so one might be inclined to think it's more like their IT is in a state of disarray but I'll let you decide.
