The speeding tickets were all generated from an occupied parked car with a device on the front. The machine is designed not to go off if a second car is in the area.

Appeal is easy if you can prove you are in a different place at the time of photo. Appeal is all but impossible if you cannot. I think you must appear in person.

My wife and I have generated about a dozen of these tickets. We have out of state plates, and the state cannot be read, but DC finds us.

A new type photo system(no car) was set up on Florida Ave(speed limit 25mph), and over 700 cars were ticketed in the first 2 days.

It is hard to believe you were not speeding, unless you were parked, as speed limits in DC are extremely low. Max on expressways is 50mph, and some are as low as 35mph(wife got one there at 75mph). Almost all thrufares are 25mph.

Watch for the full sized Fords parked on the roadside with a driver. They have a flash and a camera on the front bumper. They park in the same spots all the time. Locals recognize them, so there are some wonderful brake tests.
